But the very same liberal Democrats are willing to grant religious exceptions to vaccine mandates even though religion runs entirely contrary to science.

Now they need more workers but people have moved onto their own businesses or family obligations instead.

To me getting vaccinated was a simple decision: whatever risk there is from a relatively new technology is erased by the near certainty of severe illness if you get COVID-19. But a lot of Americans have a good reason not to trust the government. And a lot of Americans haven’t benefited from a good science education. Yelling at them is not going to change their minds.
Adding to confusion, the CDC now says that even fully vaccinated people living in high infection zones should wear masks again. Seems like a classic example of punishing the entire class for the sins of a few. Wouldn’t it make more sense to only force those who refuse to be vaccinated to wear masks?
The White House has been pressuring Fox News in public and through back channel communications to stop spreading misinformation about the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines. This sounds innocuous but there are frightening implications, not least the question of whether anyone can believe something simply because the government says that it is true. Then there is the question of whether there should ever be this sort of collaboration between government and the media that is supposed to be its watchdog.
Just as Americans were starting to enjoy the ability to go outside without wearing a mask if they are fully vaccinated, the terrifying new Delta variant has some public health experts wondering if everyone should go back to the bad all days of last year even if they are vaccinated.
According to the CDC, the latest science says that no one has to wear a mask outside because outdoor transmission doesn’t occur outside of a crowd. Moreover, they say that people who have been fully vaccinated don’t need to wear a mask at all, indoors or outdoors. The only reason people within these categories are clinging to wearing a mask, therefore, is superstition.
