The Once Future Vice President

Texas Senator Ted Cruz, running a distant second behind Donald Trump for the Republican Presidential nomination, has launched a Hail Mary pass in the form of announcing his pick for vice president, Carly Fiorina, despite the fact that he’s unlikely to win and the convention is still months away.

At this point I’ve all but entirely lost the respect I once held for the man.

  • Sorry Jack, but I never had anything near “respect” for this man. Cruz is so obviously a snake-oil salesman that he deserves nothing except disgust for what he has done, Carly Fiorina as VP? This would be an incredible joke if it was not actually happening.. This is simply incredible – if Obama accidentally droned these people as “collateral damage” I would not care.

I doubt anyone but me had. He’s a bit too Christian and hawkish, but other than that I agree with most of his beliefs. Funny how this campaign against Trump is what made it clear to me he is, as you said, a snake-oil salesman. I used to think he had so much integrity. But he’s like Hillary–he’d do anything to be president.

Now that Cruz has suspended his campaign — bringing to mind how Brooksy suspended himself in Shawshank Redemption — I glance over at Indiana’s other disaster. Hillary is losing by about 6%.

What does it say about your viability in the general when you lose a state at the point at which it’s mathematically almost impossible for you to lose the nomination?

  • I understand that Al Franken has described Rafael Edward Cruz as «the love child of Joe McCarthy and Dracula»….

    Nuff said….
