The dumbest thing you can do in politics is to fall into the framing of the opposite party. But that’s exactly what the Democrats are doing by constantly comparing President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats to former President Donald Trump and his allies.

Well what choice do they have? If there’s ever been an unimpressive cypher, an empty shilling suck-up suit, it’s Joe Biden. Whether it’s being caught plagiarizing or repeatedly telling stories that turn out to be factually impossible or being corruption-adjacent, Biden’s got nothing to offer that isn’t a liability. Here’s a guy whose kid — who he constantly brings up as political currency — died by inches from cancer. And Biden tells it like he almost lost his house due to needing money for the son’s medical treatment. But he’s still on record as vowing to strike down any bill to provide universal healthcare during his presidency. Got that? He’s been through the fire, and he wants everyone else to burn too.
The invocation of the spectre of His Hairness (aka “Trump”) isn’t the Dems exclusive “political strategy.” They do an equally empty comparison of Biden first to FDR then to JFK. That’s a LOT of embarrassingly impossible expectation (yet readily imbibed by the terminally gullible, deplorable Dem rank & file) for a guy who can only really DO a Dirty Harry impersonation … and that completely superficially. (See, for example, the February hysteria “The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming ! ….. so, you’re on your own ….. бувай !!!”)
