Joe Biden and the media outlets that support the Democratic narrative support Ukraine against Russian invasion without pausing to consider the fact that the United States is by far the biggest interventionist power in modern history. A nation that carries out drone strikes, assassinations, covert coups d’état and massive invasions and occupations of countries all over the planet has no moral standing to complain about the actions of any other country.

At least the Russkis generate blonde, blue-eyed, Christian fugitives (NOT “migrants”***) that genteel Europe can tolerate!!!

*** this term reserved for the unacceptable, ruddy (to downright black!!!) -skinned types to signify that it is their own greedy, unjustifiable CHOICES to walk long distances (or sail in dangerous boats) from their homes to selfishly better their otherwise cushy lifestyles afforded them by the US “we don’t count enemy casual-ties” invaders of their various countries.
“I don’t once remember the Iraqi’s thanking us for what we did for them.” (para-phrase)
Ed Schultz, deceased, self-proclaimed former right-winger converted to “lefty.”
Although I agree with falco’s point, part of the problem with Afghanistan is not that of skin tone but of culture. It is a problem we have seen and will continue to see occur over and over. One of America’s most pernicious fables is that we welcomed the “poor huddled masses.” Flapdoodle. We welcomed people who were able to work in factories, mine coal, extract resources. And the “We” in that was the capitalists who owned factories. And that’s been the case since the beginning.
The Ukrainians are a technologically advanced group with skill sets comparable to those of the United States. Economically, they are homologous to us. If we brought everyone out of Afghanistan, where would we put them all? I don’t mean just geographically. I mean, where do we put them? What do we tell a 60-year-old goatherd to do? Learn coding? First he’ll need to learn to read.
As the climate goes merrily to hell, this is going to get worse and worse. You can’t mass transplant millions of people from agrarian-based societies and put them into a modern-world setting. It won’t work. I strongly expect that a lot more walls will start going up soon — not always physical ones — designed to keep everyone who can’t earn their keep out of the country. Just like always.
