This one took some googling, but Al-Nusra has declared itself an army of “Islamic Jihad” and practices suicide bombings.

Message: don’t be too concerned about the micro-jerks – especially when your taxes support the empire.
This phenomenon is called “plausible deniability”. Meaning, the US supports the so-called “rebels”, but are not responsible for any atrocity that is committed by said rebels. Also called “passing the buck” or “limited liability”.
Convenient, huh?
