After surviving genocide in Europe during World War II, Jews moved to the state of Israel where they displaced and oppressed the local Palestinians. Now the Palestinians are the ones who are suffering from genocide at the hands of the Israelis. You know what comes next!

Actually … the big motivation for U.S. “involvement” in Israel, at least for the past 40 or so years, has been biblical. At least, the whole End Times mindset biblical (not the stuff at the back about universal brotherhood) espoused by Reagan and his gang (who used to be Nixon’s gang and who eventually became President Cheney’s gang).
For the Armageddon crowd to get into Heaven without dying first, Israel has to rebuild and consecrate the Temple. I’ll leave out the problems of how there’s already religious structure where the Temple’s supposed to go, and I’ll leave out how no one’s exactly sure what the correct measurements will have to be for the rebuilt temple.
If every politician in the U.S. went atheist overnight, the next morning, the entire Middle East would cool off by about 35 degrees. (And now, off to moderation.)
“Genocide? What genocide?”
–The United States government
Actually, there IS a country that has been seriously depopulated–Ukraine. But, rather than send the Palestinians there, maybe we should offer it to the Israelis, since a great many of them come from that part of the world. Eh, that’s a non-starter. Who in their right mind would move from Tel Aviv to Kyiv?
