Kamala Harris has been running for president for weeks. Yet she still hasn’t given a press conference or an interview….just like Joe Biden. Why not? Is she like Joe Biden?

On his DMZ podcast, and I have listened to every one of them, I don’t know if Ted has ever complimented a woman. He has castigated them numerous times, and I mean one time he had a woman on the podcast. But I don’t know if that counts.
First, I suspect that Ted has complimented women. I also suspect that he has, if you were to tote it all up, not complimented most men either. And, frankly, considering the implicit undercurrent of modern American “feminism” — i.e., “women are better than men” — those women in power SHOULD be getting even more criticism. Margaret “Milk Snatcher” Thatcher, Hillary Clinton, Nancy “It’s Just a Coincidence I’m Making a Killing in the Stock Market” Pelosi, Ruth “I’m Not Leaving This Office” Bader Ginsburg, Dianne “Where Am I?” Feinstein, etc.? none of them deserves a free pass because, tee-hee, they’re girls.
Second, Kamala Harris has a body of “impromptu” speeches, does she not? Like this gem about the cloud. Let’s examine those and decide for ourselves: Is she an empty-headed husk? Surprise, you can support the ideal of equalizing representation — we do, very much, need more representation by women, minorities, economically poor whites, etc. — but that does NOT mean that being black, female, or poor excuses you from being expected to be able to do the work required. Nor does it mean that you get the gutter guards put in your lane at the bowling alley.
This election will be a lot closer than it appears as of this moment, IF the media is forced to be as rigorous with fact checking Harris as they have been about fact checking Donald Trump. (Let’s just face it, almost no politician would pass rigorous fact checking. Give a read through Mark Green’s “Reagan’s Reign of Error” a book written in 1987 because of the quality AND quantity of Reagan’s many whoppers). They all lie. We’re just haggling over price, as Churchill would say.
And now … Moderation.
I watched the debate. Before the debate, the MSM said, ‘Biden’s sharp as a tack!’ As the closing credits were running, we started seeing, ‘CNN says Biden can’t continue, must quit.’ ‘MSNBC says Biden can’t continue, must quit.’ ‘Online New York Times says Biden can’t continue, must quit.’ etc., etc.
I didn’t see anything any different in the debate, but whomever decides had decided Biden got one last debate and that was it. He was about 5 points behind Trump in the polls.
Harris had been below Biden in the polls, but as soon as she became the sure-to-be-annointed nominee, she rose to about 5 points above Trump in all the polls, including all but two of the swing states and the election. (Of course, she won’t be the official nominee until Thursday of next week when the DNC actually votes.)
Given the huge stink caused by her best-known spontaneous remark, and her past reputation (failure to connect with voters, staff quitting because she’s hard to work with, etc.), I think it’s more likely that those animating the Kamala Harris puppet simply don’t trust her to talk without a script, and I think that is, in a perverse way, understandable.
