The United States presents itself as an “honest broker” in peace negotiations between Israel and the occupied Palestinian Territories. But they keep putting their thumb on the scale. Now President Trump has eliminated all pretense of objectivity, effectively informing the Palestinians that he doesn’t care about their positions. Trump’s latest gambit: recognizing Israel’s ownership of the Golan Heights, captured from Syria during the Six-Day War.

Israel meddles in US elections and not a peep from Democrats.
Two words: ” Ilhan Omar” (Who has been defended by none other than Bernie Sanders)
And, uh, you might want to read this article before drawing conclusions.
The Democratic Party that smashed the campaign of Sanders and elected Pelosi as Speaker of the House will, in my estimation, see to it that such “peeps” of individuals will never become the the voice of the party.
I will cheer if and when I am proven wrong.
@Glenn:
I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment of the greater DNC.
> Now President Trump has eliminated all pretense of objectivity
Refreshingly honest. The US has never been objective wrt Israel, but we made mouth noises sorta suggesting we did.
«Peace process» ? That seems to be the name favoured in North America and Europe for Israel’s repeated wars on its neighbours and creeping expansion beyond the more than three fourths of the territory of Mandate Palestine it occupied in the 1948 war. Minitrue wins again !…

Once again, this particular example of political/diplomatic/logical atrocity is NOT new nor unique to the His Hairness administration.
The US “negotiating” position, with whomever, can be summarized as: “We will not even begin to ‘talk’ unless and until you accept, without qualification, ALL of our demands upon which the subsequent negotiations are purported to be based.”
Followed by, “Well, we tried, there’s just no reasoning with those silly Palestinians. We are therefore entirely justified in slaughtering their children.”
