In response to the coronavirus crisis San Francisco and other cities has imposed a “shelter in place” order that exempts the homeless.

At last the homeless get a break, Ted – what’s not to like ?…

So they’re starting to release people from prison due to this coronavirus. Of course, that’s a potential disaster too. A prison population is probably already infected. And I suspect that there will be a higher rate of lack of follow through on quarantine protocols from people who’ve just spent who knows how long locked in cages.
Of course, at this point, it’s probably too late as it is. But we’ve got two weeks or so until the next primary, and I think that those will be postponed too. It’s possible Sanders could still win this thing.
Now, if my theory is right, because I have not used quote marks, this should post instantly.
Sanders needs 66+% of the 1668 delegates to be pledged in the rest of the primaries.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we used this excuse to round up all the homeless and put them into clean, safe facilities and give them, oh I don’t know, a few weeks of clean beds, hot showers, warm meals, maybe even a little therapy or just someone to listen to them? Couldn’t we use the excuse of a global pandemic to show a little kindness?
«Couldn’t we use the excuse of a global pandemic to show a little kindness?» I fear you’ve misunderstood, Alex ; while the powerful and their advisers are indeed resolved to never let a good crisis go to waste, kindness is not the point of the exercise….

It is with great reluctance that I have agreed to this calling. I love democracy. I love the Republic. Once this crisis has abated, I will lay down the powers you have given me! — Arbuthnot the Magnificent
«…kindness is not the point of the exercise….»: Even if I do fully agree, I still doubt the crisis’ true seriousness. Although I’d love to see the American error definitely corrected, I somehow doubt it will happen in my lifetime (Which might be -or not- shortened if Covid-19 is indeed deadly serious ).
Still, even if I’ll certainly never be able to afford it, I’m wondering what is Trump -a well-known yellow coward- having before going out to shake hands publicly…

Ted, you will no doubt be pleased to note that the New York Times has picked up on your theme above. Of course, for the sake of accuracy – surely such things don’t happen in the US, that Shining City on a Hill ?!! – they have displaced the venue from New York to Rome….
