Democrats are still completely wound up over the fact that Donald Trump falsely claims that he won the 2020 presidential election, and the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riot. Yet Democrats quickly forgot about something far worse than lying about losing and a failed coup: the 2000 presidential election actually was stolen, in part due to a violent coup, and as a result more than 1 million people in Iraq and Afghanistan died. Democrats forgot so thoroughly that they now treat Bush like an elder statesman to be respected rather than thrown into prison for the rest of his life as he deserves.

I’m from November 2023. The midterms were a rout for the dems. (The hurricane that hit DC in August really didn’t help.) Trump was about to be indicted (finally) but the day before the subpoenas and warrants went out, he announced his re-election campaign, so that’s on the back burner until after the primary. Trump’s running basically on a three-plank platform: That he was right about Covid being made in a lab. That the border is being overrun and only his wall will save us all. And that he needs his freedom fighters to actively suppress vote tampering by liberals because the only way he’ll lose his third term is if it’s stolen just like his second one was. Trust me, you don’t want the report from November 2025.
“[M]ore than 1 million people in Iraq and Afghanistan died. Democrats forgot so thoroughly that they now treat Bush like an elder statesman to be respected rather than thrown into prison for the rest of his life as he deserves.”
The party of Hope, the Democrats cowardly choose to not see. They haven’t forgotten. They just hope their true believers forget.
Call it “Not See-ism”
They are the perfect complement to the Republicans.
Both piss in the pool, but Republicans piss from the diving board.
Glenn,
Did you ever see “Tusk” with Justin Long? “Not-See Party”?
Never did.
I’ll have to look it up.
Certainly there is no end to “Democratic” Party cowardice. But let us not forget that the US bipartisan destruction of Iraq started 12 years before Baby Bush, co-star of this cartoon, with the Dems support of pappy Bush’s “Desert Storm” that resulted in a few hundred thousand Iraqi dead. This poetically-named slaughter was immediately followed by devastating “economic” sanctions maintained and extended 8 years by the Clinton (D) diumvirate that killed half-million children … a price their Sec State Albright said “was worth it.” WHAT was it worth? It was worth, of course, continuing by Baby Bush to “soften up” Iraq for his (and Cheney’s) 2003 invasion, which was/is the continuation, NOT initiation, of a prolonged genocidal process so often forgotten, as here. Baby Bush’s completely bipartisan contribution was over a million more dead with 20% of the population (5 million) becoming refugees.
From Ralph Nader’s podcast number 371
“If we had to make a list of the people who have profited off of Donald Trump’s presidency, we’d be here for a while. For some, they got financial gain, others, political power or a boost to their careers. One man on that list saw his public image go from walking punchline to elder statesman. And that was President George W. Bush. What a gift Donald Trump was to George W. Bush.I’ll bet Bush never dreamt that he would see someone be worse at being the president within his lifetime. Donald Trump has played a convenient rodeo clown for the presidency, distracting the American public from the atrocities of administrations past. So what is George W. Bush’s true legacy? Well, if you ask our guest, StevenMarkoff, Bush’s legacy is a whole bunch of crimes, and we’ll be discussing Mr. Markoff’s book The Case Against George W. Bush, which lays out the case for three crimes that he alleges Bush committed during his presidency.”
Markoff sent a pdf of his book to me and invited me to send it around.
It’s a painfully detailed history of the crimes committed by W before a Democratic Party committed to winning elections through indifference to murder in the name of patriotism.
