  • And Obama's very latest surprise: he's considering "allowing" prisoners at Guantanamo to plead guilty and be executed without a trial. Why? So the details of their torture at US hands can be kept forever secret.

Obama Weighs Plan Allowing 9/11 Suspects to Plead Guilty – http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/06/us/politics/06gitmo.html

Obama is both Bush and Cheney. The Republicans won after all.

  • Nice. Gonna post a link to that in my LJ and Facebook for all the fucking morons who still think Obama's a good Democrat. Goddamn fucking liar.

Don't expect any O-bots to hang themselves over this, they'll just take the propaganda to the next level. One point, the timeline in your toon seems to indicate a progression of events, all that stuff is happening now, in real time.

  • so, dude… i acknowledge and agree with your position on the current administration.

i acknowledge and agree with your position/s on the 9/11 perpetrators… oops, uh, i mean, the "bush administration."

(osama is just an errand-boy for the neo-cons. duh!)

    which makes all americans co-conspirators.

so, what do you suggest we do about it, before we find ourselves in a schindler's list type situation? that is to say, if we're not already in one, which we probably are.

    peace, yo.

Obama allowing "detainees" to plead guilty and be executed? They'll jump at that chance, because at least they'll be put out of their misery.

Death is preferable to spending more years, even decades, in a hell-hole.

  • How about how Obama admitted the USA criminally overthrew Iran's government and installed the Shah? The right wingers are foaming rabid on the radio over that.

  • Hey Statists, look what your Dear Leader is doing:

The Obama administration is considering a change in the law for the military commissions at the prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, that would clear the way for detainees facing the death penalty to plead guilty without a full trial.

The provision could permit military prosecutors to avoid airing the details of brutal interrogation techniques. It could also allow the five detainees who have been charged with the Sept. 11 attacks to achieve their stated goal of pleading guilty to gain what they have called martyrdom.

  • Your anger is misplaced. Obama was, and remains, easily the best of the two electable choices we had.

Blame it on the system. Blame it on the American people. But being mad at Obama is pointless when the alternative was clearly so much worse.

  • Maybe "Time is on my side" should be the song for his re-election campaign? I agree with Anon 8:45 AM, he's easily still the best choice we had. I do blame it on the system. Putting it all on one person is adopting the cult of personality mentality that really isn't accurate for describing and understanding pluralist societies.

Ted, I refuse to let you break down my delusion that all is well know that Obama is President. I have precious few delusions left and I cherish every one of them.

Anon at 8:45, we don't live in the fantasy world where John McCain is president, Obama is accountable for his own shit. Saying that things would be a lot worst with McCain/Palin in power is intellectually bankrupt, that scenario never had a chance to begin with.

  • Hmmmmm…., who is being waterboarded in the last panel?

  • No One of Consequence

Why blame it on the system? Obama and his friends MADE the system, so that is a stupid dodge.

Why blame it on the people? The system was designed so the people don't get a choice? Where the fuck were you in 2000 — and 2004?

And do explain to us how the alternatives were worse. IIRC, the alternative was a guy who would continue, and aggravate, Bush's policies. We got a guy who has continued, and aggravated, Bush's policies — and has done it better than his opponent would.

    Anonymous @ 6/7, 8:45am = Complete Fucking Fail

  • Great cartoon. Prescient. Scary that you've got the guy pinned down way before anyone else.

While I don't agree with your politics as a whole, I like seeing the responses here. Liberals, trying to protect us from evil Repubs and unborn babies. Too funny. /snark
