Experts on site at the southern border with Mexico repeatedly warned the incoming Joe Biden administration that they should expect a surge of migration coinciding with the new presidency. Apparently it happens every 4 to 8 years. But Biden ignored them. As a result, thousands of people are arriving without adequate facilities to house them, and they are being held in the scandalous dog cages used by the Trump administration.

“cages used by the Trump administration” — and, if memory serves, the Obama administration. I can’t recall if Pres. Cheney used the same set up but I certainly can’t imagine him doing anything better or more humane. Ditto the Clinton era. This has all the bipartisan signs of being an ongoing crisis because that’s what both sides like, a highly emotional issue (like gun control and abortion) that gets the faithful on both sides to open their checkbooks. If you wanted illegal border crossings stopped, you could do it in all of about three weeks. But then you’d have to move on to an important issue. Neither side wants that.
President 0bama declared, allowing illegals to stay without fear of deportation, “A good thing for America.”
Now, that uncontrolled immigration is a good thing. It’s a good thing for the illegal immigrants. It’s a good thing for the United States. It’s a good thing for the citizens of the country. But, it’s only good so long as its illegal.
That’s an interesting paradox to think about. Make it legal and it’s no good. Why? Because as long as it’s illegal, the people who come here are treated like disposable citizens and subject to abuse and deportation should they not behave like “useful idiots.”
Is it a good thing for all the citizens of your country? Or even the majority of the citizens of your country? I can definitely buy that it’s good for “the economy”, meaning by that “the employers”.
Racism and incompetence are not mutually exclusive.
