Besides That?

Democrats seem confused that Joe Biden’s approval ratings are dropping precipitously despite the fact that the economy isn’t terrible, he is acting on COVID-19 and he has passed a significant infrastructure bill. They don’t seem to understand that voters look first and foremost for strength and leadership in the commander-in-chief, and that Joe Biden is inherently incapable of projecting those two qualities.

Okay, all. All kidding aside. When you write out a list of “Trump” things, most are easily found in other presidents. Try it. Pick something Trump did. (Build the Wall?) Other administrations haven’t engaged in pork-barrel useless projects that did little or nothing? What? The wall in question is racist? Wow. That’s an eye-opener. Especially in a country where institutional racism and economic oppression (mostly of minorities but also of some white people) has never been an integral part of the political mechanism or the regular course of day-to-day existence.
What seems to really irk a lot of people (and oddly enough, it’s what also makes him attractive to his base) is that Trump is coarse; he bullies people and mocks them. So if I’ve got it right, Trump mocking a disabled man is terrible (it is) but all those presidents giving lip service while they, their PR wonks, and the media ram a 3-yard-long line of BS down your throat is OK because you aren’t being mocked — or at least aren’t subtle enough to pick up on the disrespect?
What? Trump assaults women? Hmm. Good point. I can’t think of any other president recently that’s had that sort of accusation leveled at him. And let’s not even open up the can of worms that is ALL the presidents who’ve sent women’s health issues (abortion, childcare, maternity leave, etc.) to the back of the line over and over.
I don’t like Trump. I also don’t/didn’t like Biden, Obama, Clinton, Pres. Cheney, GHW Bush, Reagan, etc. because they all work to the same overall design concept: The rich are in charge. The cops are untouchable. To hell with the climate. To hell with infrastructure. God, God, God. A raise, are you crazy? You don’t deserve healthcare. Or a college education. Unless it’s inadequate and shoddy and you shoulder a crippling (sorry, differently abled) amount of debt. Big business always wins except in those few cases designed to trick the gullible into thinking they’re making progress.
“At least he’s not Trump?” He ABSOLUTELY is Trump, or so close as to make little difference.
