Another Government Shutdown?

House Speaker Kevin Johnson is trying to pass a continuing funding resolution for the federal government that also contains a voter ID requirement that even some Republicans oppose. An October 1st deadline looms, but will anyone care if the federal government ceases to operate?

  • Ever watch “Gatchaman”? In the United States in the 1970s, it circulated as “Battle of the Planets.” Proto-anime. It actually had a fairly good story line. (The dubbed original is much better.) But every week, Berg Katse, the bad guy, would get away, usually by the skin of his teeth, and usually right after Our Heroes, the Science Ninja Team, had just defeated his nefarious plot at the last moment.

Get why I’m bringing this up?

It’s all part of the script the people in the back are cranking out. “Have we done the ‘bring the government to the brink budget-wise’ thing lately?”
“We had that back a few seasons ago, when Bill Clinton was the lead.”
“Well, let’s resolve it then. It really won’t have much wow factor.”
    “What?”
“Look, look. We’ve got the government arriving at the point where the budget will no longer be able to service the debt. That’s scheduled for about 20 years ahead. We need them all really really dumb about the idea that even the government can run out money. And besides, we’re gonna have the dems force Biden to resign to try to do one more ‘shout-clear-and-trigger-the-paddles’ on the Harris campaign’s corpse in October. We don’t want to confuse the audience with both.”
    “Okay. You’re the show runner.”
“And get me the people working on the Ukraine and Gaza plots. We need to punch those up.”

  • The US government of kinder, gentler, joyous genocide (and voter elimination!) would have to experience something quite more monumentally debilitating than simple “shut down” for there to be any possibility of diminished support to the depraved, monstrous psychopaths of the Israel government. One could envision that a US governmental “shut down” might provide “opportunities” to divert even more “aid for mass murder” from officially inactive accounts.
