To the Barricades for Beleaguered Bureaucrats!

As Elon Musk’s DOGE cost-cutting brigade ordered mass layoffs and targeted entire agencies, Democrats who tried to use the cuts to rally Americans may have been surprised to learn that the trials and tribulations of bureaucrats don’t resonate with voters who don’t understand what bureaucrats do in the first place.

Musk, much like the broken clock that he is, is right about once in every 720 times. Probably, the bureaucracy in D.C. is bloated. That’s the tendency of bureaucracies. But it is a delusion of the first order for Musk or any of his breathless follower-fanatics to believe that he can correctly eliminate all “the bad apples.”

Musk’s plan seems pretty obvious. Same as Trump’s. Do a bunch of crazy things. Break everything you can. Each man is using the other to distract people. Why? If you plan to burgle a house or business, the best time to try it is on Halloween night while there’s a block party going on. Lots of noise, lots of people running around.

Musk, the richest man in the world, stands to lose quite a bit of money if/when Tesla’s stock price implodes. He’s constantly jumping from one gimmick to the next, like a Batman supervillain. Gut the bureaucracy? Sure. It’s a good way to preemptively protect yourself from discovery when you pull some fast one that the IRS or regulatory body might catch you on. I mean, who else is going to do it? The media? Ha ha ha ha.
