And, again, a Bush family fiasco is finally brought to an end with none of them being penalized for it. That makes, what, the fifth massive error committed by one of the Bush Simpletons?
1) I’ll believe it when I see it.
2) This signals that the US intends to manipulate the situation in Myanmar to get a bigger border with China much closer to “the action” in which to meddle than it has now in extreme NE Afghanistan. (No, the US doesn’t really care about women’s rights in Myanmar, either.)
3) Did you notice that now we are to be impressed with “less than idiotic”?
The US will continue to drone Afghanistan, but the drone operators will all be in the US. No need for troops on the ground, except for intelligence operations, so not more than 10,000 or so, few enough that we can call it complete withdrawal.
Yeah, I find it amusing in a 1984 kind of way when “withdrawing and ending the war” means pulling out 3500 troops and eaving, according to the NYT, about 18,000 special ops and private contractors.
