Michael Flynn in Trouble for Peacemongering with Russia, Warmongers Run Free

General Michael Flynn was fired as Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser after it was revealed that US spy agencies tapped his phone calls with Russian officials throughout the campaign. Those intercepts showed that he had spoken about dropping US sanctions against Russia should Trump get elected, a possible violation of the Logan Act. Compared to Obama and Bush’s warmongering and the impunity with which they did it, the reaction to Flynn’s peacemongering reveals a lot about our national priorities.

“Whatever a patron desires to get published is advertising; whatever he wants to keep out of the paper is news,” is the sentiment expressed in a little framed placard on the desk of L. E. Edwardson, day city editor of the Chicago Herald and Examiner.

Fred Hampton was killed by Chicago Police, in my opinion, because he had a large following of both Blacks and Whites.

The FBI feared the rise of a “Black Messiah” who would unify and uplift communities bypassing government involvement and control.

Even George Washington saw “self-created democratic societies” as enemies of his government, but feared suppression of them would only empower them.

      For your consideration:

“I start with the assumption that white skinned working class people are tired of living in poverty, tired of living paycheck to paycheck, tired of seeing the products of their hard efforts evaporate before their very eyes. The times are tough for many of us, where we don’t know how we’re going to survive. Politician after politician makes empty promises, and seemingly there’s no relief for us, as white skinned working Americans. So we start to look around at who to blame, and it’s easy enough… we blame black people, brown people… “illegals”. It’s simple enough. We’re competing with these people for jobs and resources, in some cases it seems like a logical enough conclusion to come to.”

  • Peacemongering is dangerous ; people might begin to question the whole business of going to war. After all, if it’s not necessary for the US to go to war with Russia, what excuse can be found for going to war with a lesser «threat». Mr Flynn wanted to bomb the shit out of Muslims and/or Iran, but his reluctance to go to war against those dastardly Russians undermined his credibility….

The Deep State is firmly in control of world politics, and most likely hates Trump for letting total(itarian) domination of the world economy slip from their grasp with the demise of the TPP under his rule.

Schumer rebukes Trump for his naive disrespect for a secret power that controls his fate, a power that Schumer accepts with the equanimity of a horse that accepts the bit in its mouth.

      • Good link. The Greatest Force for Good in the World now has to worry about the Soviets (Europa) and the Chinese (Eastasia). What will Big Brother do to save us? (We’re all sure he has an answer, and we’re all anxiously waiting for him to tell us what it is.)

      • Re: http://www.atimes.com/world-community-sizes-diminished-trump/

It’s been exactly my worry all along. Mr. Trump needs to throw the traitors out. Clean house.

I will say though that’s it’s nothing new for the US not to be reliable…one day we’re “friends” and the next we’re blowing you up!

And I will reiterate that *nothing* looks good for China here. They are burning through their reserves, and crushed with debt from financing the ghost cities of the “Chinese miracle.” There is no understanding the geopolitical without understanding the economic, financial, and monetary.

      • Jack sez, ” There is no understanding the geopolitical without understanding the economic, financial, and monetary.”

Damn, Jack – that’s twice in one day that we agree. I am, however, quite surprised to hear you admit it. >;->

      • «The Greatest Force for Good in the World now has to worry about the Soviets (Europa) and the Chinese (Eastasia).» Not to mention the way those villains continually tie the female lead to the railway tracks, with that old steam locomotive blowing its whistle as it gets nearer and nearer. Will our hero ride to the rescue in time ? The suspense is killing me !…

  • Sooo …. “US Spy Agencies” were more concerned about Hillary’s email server than a private citizen conspiring with Russian spy agencies. They disclosed one before the election, but not the other.

I think that’s something WE should be concerned about.

  • I confess: I’m confused. Was Flynn “fired” or did he “resign”?

    • Flynn was told to resign or he’d be fired.

With some employment contracts, being laid off pays well, while resigning pays nothing. Being fired ‘for cause’ not only pays nothing, but puts a permanent ink blot on your record. So Flynn resigned.

So now he has to scrape by on his pension, which is 3/4 of the current salary of a Lt General.

      • «So now he has to scrape by on his pension, which is 3/4 of the current salary of a Lt General.» Not to worry, Michael, I’m sure Mr Flynn can find a remunerative gig or two to occupy his time and keep the wolf from the door….

  • During the campaign, Trump said he’d work WITH Russia against the Deash. Secretary Clinton said she’d force regime change on Syria, and, if Russia had any objections, she’d force regime change on Russia.

AFTER the inauguration, Trump said he’d work ON Russia and get Russia to return the Crimea, stop helping ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine, and stop squatting on those military bases in Syria that belong to NATO.

Secretary Clinton said regime change in Syria would be her priority from Day One.

Trump has shown that regime change in Syria and Russia must wait until he’s figured out what to do with the US judicial system.

Will Trump turn out to be another Secretary Redbeard (but with blonde hair)?

  • Reading the comments on gocomics, many hate Mr Rall for not posting cartoons that said, ‘Everyone MUST vote for Secretary Clinton.’

His cartoons all said, ‘Vote for a Stein.’ Even if every single Stein voter had voted for Secretary Clinton, she’d still have lost. But the Clintonbots hate Mr Rall anyway.

Trump is proving an unmitigated disaster, just as Mr Rall said he would be in his book.

I’m not convinced President Clinton would have been any better. I think she’d have been worse. And what the newspapers call a ‘botched military mission’ since Trump was in charge would have been an ‘unqualified success’ had President Clinton been in charge.

‘Botched’ sounds more appropriate to me than ‘unqualified success’.
