Tacking on Syria

Needless to say, the Obama administration is still reeling from developments earlier this week, when an off-the-cuff remark by Secretary of State John Kerry opened up an opportunity for peace that our warmongering president and his warmongering allies didn’t anticipate. But this is also affecting the world of editorial commentary. I have had to readjust all of my excellent cartoon ideas about Syria to accommodate the possibility of the diplomatic initiative by Russia. Stay tooned.

  • Which remark is that, Ted? He’s said so many stupid things over the past month I can’t keep track of them.

  • It is supremely ironic and more than a little moronic that Kerry, while spouting out all his “reasons” that we can’t do anything else except attack Syria, that he blurted out a possible opportunity for peace and diplomatic action in the middle of it – and although he immediately discounted in in the same breath, it seems to have been picked up and is being run with now. Little tiny, itsy-bitsy limited strike. We have, what is it now, 4 carriers/destroyers and a ballistic missile submarine standing by with stealth bombers in the backround? A few thousand missiles, bombs and more would be an act of war, nothing else – and the collateral damage and retaliation would certainly turn it into a major conflagration at the very least. Obomber and Kerry are simply bat-shit crazy and the idea that they can lie us into this mess means they need to be put on immediate valium drips and removed from their offices.
