Congressman in NSA reform “debate” admit that they never seriously considered eliminating the telephone metadata program, only trying to figure out who should keep the data – the NSA, the phone companies, or a third-party? Meanwhile, most Americans want to get rid of it entirely. Nice democracy you got there.

Elected officials make not even the slightest attempt to represent the interests of the American people in NSA scandals

Even if most Americans disagree with the program, I don’t feel they are willing to punish both parties to elect a third party willing to address the issue. Wishful thinking that whoever replaces Mr. 44 will sprinkle glitter over the issue and make it go away.
@HeyJay139, I don’t think a lack of willingness is the issue. Third parties have difficulty securing ballot access. And people have been taught to vote “strategically” so their vote isn’t “wasted” on a candidate who can’t win.
