DNC blog Daily Kos continuing its rabid campaign to censor critics of Obama. Check out this latest of perhaps 12 posts there. There’s more crazy illogic and smears in there than you’ll see all year. (I love how the “sample” of cartoons includes two by the same cartoonist. Wonder if the Kossacks can tell?)
P.S. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if this anonymous slime bucket were a white guy with an axe to grind…a certain serial identity thief, perhaps?

What??! they are still at it – or again! Well, time to make a big bowl of buttered popcorn, get comfy and watch them throwing pies at each other! Too funny! π You would think that some other birght and shiny object would have distracted them by now.
Ah, here come the troll…. no, we’re past that one, now it’s the sock puppet/zombie accusations, aaaaannd… it’s 1 point up for the hooper!

Whew. Hard work trying to make something so boring even a little entertaining.
To be fair, the diarist in question has been pilloried on DKos by both your supporters and detractors alike.
That said, I found his diaries hilarious. I would have sworn up and down that they were snark, since every single one of them tended to disprove his central thesis (your alleged racism). For example, he cites a cartoon of yours — in which you mocked the racism of people reluctant to vote for President Obama due to his race — as somehow being evidence that you are a racist. I kid you not.
I looked at that guy’s first piece, and the thrust of it appeared to be that every time anyone says anything negative about Obama that is reminiscent of anything negative said about any black person anywhere anytime, it’s racist.
They will tire of this eventually and, as Ted says, find another house to burn down. They like doing that. It’s a kind of tradition.
When the site admins instituted a rule saying people who posted dramatic diaries about leaving the site forever, would be at least provisionally banned in order to discourage repeat performances, a lot of people were disappointed. They live for this kind of drama. It’s like a Roman coliseum and they are the lions.
I am shocked to find that a caricature has been drawn that references the subjects physical features. Everyone knows that caricatures and cartoons are supposed to be accurate and realistic.
Thankfully Mr. Rall has updated his Obama caricature to better represent reality. Still, he insist on using dots for eyes, and a line for a mouth. Obama has a eyes and a mouth, so this is probably still a racist depiction.
This message was brought to you by sarcasm.
I love how jshooper states “I found an interesting cross-section (right wing and left) of illustrations that depicted the President in various ways but nearly ALL OF THEM accentuated his actual physical traits to create their caricature” – and then he selects three of ALL OF THEM to prove his point, two of which are from Bok. If that’s the best he can do, he hasn’t even made it to the minor leagues. (I would have commented on that site, but for the fact that I would have had to volunteer to swim in that crap by signing up.) π
If all they care about is page views, this kind of Jerry Springer approach works well.
But getting a reputation for trashing will come back and bite you in the ass other ways. It scares people off. The less willing controversial authors are willing to risk posting there, the less interesting the site becomes.
Also “Lefties Fighting” isn’t an accurate representation of what is going on. The lefties there are mostly people from the old Docudharma crowd, and have mostly been defending Ted. Well, some have stayed away from the whole thing, because historically the best way to avoid getting banned is to steer clear of all controversy.
So Democratic.
Has anyone else noticed that DK discussions require an almost encyclopedic memory of previous grudges and particulars about individual posters and their dramas? It’s like the Bowling for Soup song. High School Never Ends.
It strikes me as soap opera-like in ways.
There are so many ways to run a website. You can allow people to interact freely within legal boundaries, you can be repressive and insist everyone be nice. You can allow the occasional venting of festering unresolved crap on unsuspecting newcomers. The possibilities are endless!
Maybe they should have a weekly lottery, where they could declare open season on a randomly chosen person and everyone who hated them would get a free pass to trash that person without fear of reprisals. Like in the Shirley Jackson story, only virtual.
That would so kick up page views. And it would be a lot more Democratic.
@ alex_the_tired –
That’s all the more reason for me to abstain. I don’t need any more crap in my life – certainly not from that type of people! π
OT, but speaking of racism, I ran into this excellent piece of journalism today, about a young homeless black girl and her family.
