Now It Can Be Told, indeed, and the chorus is large, loud, and growing every day. Your writings, as well as those of Glenn Greenwald and Matt Tiabbi, are where I look for coherent explanations of WTF is happening to this country. I’m looking forward to your Manifesto.
Dad, a Child of the Depression, frequently warned that the Depression was coming back. As a child, I wondered what it was about starvation, personal tragedy, going without food and clothes, living with an abusive, alcoholic, constantly grieving widower father seemed to be attractive to my Dad. In many ways, we were poor, too, but our lives in the forties and fifties weren’t anywhere as bad as for children of the Depression. My Dad envied his children for the things we had, that he provided, that he didn’t have. Instead of being happy for us, he wanted us to experience his tragic young life so we could appreciate what we had. So, maybe, Dad, you’ll get your wish for this one child. Isn’t it a parent’s duty to make his children suffer so they’ll be able to pass ‘the test?’ You might ask, what does my personal life experience with my Dad have to do with what’s happening now and what may come that resembles a Great Depresson? Well, I’m PREPARED. I’m MORE THAN prepared. Thanks, Dad! Thanks a whole fucking lot! By the way. Here’s a tip. ‘They’ throw out ‘good stuff’ in the alleys. Even when Dad was working a good-paying job, he scoured the alleys for ‘good stuff.’ Thans and a tip of the hat to Dad!
