So Much Privilege, so Many Choices

The choice of Kamala Harris as Democratic nominee for vice president presents a bit of a conflict for liberal leaning voters. If they vote for her, they are voting for racist policing. If they don’t vote for her, is that racist too?

Trans-Privileged

Transgender people often report having felt trapped in a different body gender than their actual identity. There was a “trans racial” NAACP official who identified as African-American though she had no black ancestry. Can transclassism be next in the battle for self identity and the right to live as we feel inside?

Silent Treatment

As a white man, I enjoy the privilege of thinking that the system usually works fairly – for me. After the LA Times fired me as a favor to the LAPD, however, I saw the system’s unfairness at work. No matter what happened, it became clear that there was nothing that could have convinced them to admit they’d made a mistake.
