Vote Blue No Matter Who, Unless It’s Mamdani

The Democratic Party is divided into two factions: left-wing progressives, such as Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and right-wing corporatists, such as Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer. Corporatists control the party, so most nominees are corporatists. They urge progressives to remain loyal and “vote blue no matter who” to defeat Republicans. However, when a progressive secures the nomination, corporatists often refuse to support them and may even align with Republicans to undermine them. This happened to Bernie Sanders and is now happening to Zohran Mamdani in New York City. The Democratic Party is only unified in one direction.

The corporatist method worked well. Nothing helps your cause more than a bunch of gullible idiots who don’t learn from prior experience. 2026 will either be a staggering victory for the Republicans, or the democrats will regain the House or Senate (or both). But, as with past occurrences of this sort of victory for the dems, so what? The dems won’t DO anything with the advantage. Mamdani is a millionaire from a millionaire family. He’s simply the latest iteration of the rich kid in college who dressed in thrift store clothes, listened to rap, and had a crazy haircut. As soon as Dad lets him know about the six-figure internship at the hedge fund two weeks before graduation, he’ll burn the rags, box up the CDs, and get a haircut on his way to the custom fitting.

The idea that Mamdani is going to “turn it around” is risible. He talks a game. He won’t come through.

  • The corporatist method boils down to Democrats bragging how well everyone’s 401ks did during Obama’s Presidency..

.. to which I’d reply “you’re not kidding! I mean, I don’t know how the poor people did but I did GREAT!”
