Report after report about U.S. drone strikes in Afghanistan and Pakistan quote government reports that state that “suspected militants” have been killed. Suspected of what? By whom? No one knows and no one cares. Meanwhile, there is one drone strike every four days.

Considering there were only about 50 to 100 Al Qada members a year ago, and the near perfect intelligence Obama has access to, and the highly precise means of delivering attacks only to those who deserve them, its time for Obama to declare mission accomplished, and stop his killing, or explain why the US needs to be there for ten more years.

falco: Do you mean THE Eric Holder who used to work for the prestigious law-firm that handled (with latex gloves) the business of Goldman Sachs? He was the man chosen by Barack Obama to investigate the Wall Street frauds, as I recall.

Yes, THAT Eric Holder, now known as Eric “Yoo Doo Doo” Holder since he obediently confirmed the legality of the Obama’s claimed right to kill U.S. citizens on foreign soil without judicial review. (Are we are to applaud the fact that this NEO-neocon abomination was performed by THE Attorney General, instead of some hitherto unknown punk lurking in the bowels of the Dept of “Justice”?)
This right would, of course, pass directly to any subsequent Republican administration, which would be bad, really bad BUT while it resides with a Democratic administration, it is to be hailed as a breakthrough in human rights. (How is it that Obama is prevented from doing useful things by “powers outside his control” but seems able to continue the shredding of the constitution all by himself – with only a bit of Yoo Doo Doo.)
I can only surmise that we each, coincidentally, must have had too much wax in our ears when we “think” we heard 2008 Obama talking about what should be done regarding Wall Street predators! Shall we jointly buy a lottery ticket? ( I would suggest that the apparently massive amounts of wax in progressives’ ears, would, if routinely harvested, serve as robust, new, carbon-based fuel resource.)
So long as residents of the United States persist in regarding themselves and their country of residence as something special, distinct from the other 95 % percent of mankind that has the «misfortune» to live elsewhere, they will keep allowing their politicians to repeat these abominations, which convince them that they are indeed special, as they can get away with it – when was the last time you saw Bush, Cheney, Obama, Clinton, et al before a tribunal answering to charges of war crimes and crimes against the peace ? Rendering such a tribunal unlikely is, no doubt, one of the reasons why that country spends as much on the military as the rest of the world combined – but how long can that particular type of economic absurdity continue ?…
