The Thought Really Doesn’t Count

Everyone knows that Republicans have little appetite to help impoverished Americans get through the COVID-19 economic lockdown. But there isn’t much difference between them and Democrats when it comes to reality: neither of them will actually expand any political capital to get help to the people who need it.

Love how one’s wearing no mask, the other’s is under his nose.
Has anyone else been tracking the forensic path of Joe, um, Biden’s Columbia-like self-imolation?
Michael Moore has warned that Biden’s going to lose. Over at 538.com, the simulations show Biden dropping. He was at 73-27% about two weeks ago. Now he”s 68-32%. RealClearPolitics has it as a coin toss: 51-48.
But look at the Covid numbers. Those two in the strip aren’t the only ones not wearing masks. Articles are beginning to hint that we may have hit herd-immunity numbers. The death rate is dropping. if there isn’t a second wave, Trump won’t even have to campaign: “The dems destroyed all your lives, destroyed my beautiful, perfect economy, to get Senile Socialist Joe Stalin, I mean Biden, into office. The Chinese virus, which was a hoax, burned out, just like I said it would.”
And the dem leadership, who hate science as much as Trump does, won’t have a comeback. Maybe Pelosi can offer everyone some ice cream from her $25,000 refrigerator.

  • “Hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue.”–Francois de La Rochefoucauld
It was an homage paid by all Trump’s predecessors, but never by Trump. Obama lied that he was only deporting Hispanics convicted of violent felonies, a lie believed by Obamabots/Clintonbots and by the Trumpeters (who figured Obama gave every illegal Hispanic many voter ID cards and told them they could stay as long as they voted early and often for Democrats), all the while being the Deporter in Chief, deporting far more than any other president, but that’s because he used legal deportations, taking the Hispanics before a docile judge who ordered them deported. Clinton removed far more, but didn’t bother with a judge, so they weren’t deportations, just removals (put on the plane without a visit to a judge).
Still, ‘The world will little note nor long remember what they did here, but it can never forget what a US president said,’ so it’s the words that matter, not the deeds.

  • During the Presidential campaign, then Senator 0bama identified lobbyists as part of the problem of why government doesn’t work for the people and vowed to eliminate the influence peddlers from his administration.

“We have a corrupt political combine, where the members of the two parties have come together with the lobbyists, not pursuant to a public interest, but to pursue their own. If you do not belong to a special interest group or have an advocate at the Capital, then you are without representation.” — Reference: The Need for Change, Presidential Candidate Barack 0bama, April 4, 2008, Chicago, IL.

If you vote for a ‘D’ or a ‘R’ you’re casting a vote for corruption.
