The Lie Master

Trump is famous for his lies, but increasingly he is not only lying about matters of little or no importance; he is lying when telling the truth would be more personally and politically advantageous.

  • Waitin’ for the toon where Ted notes he’d rather have addled Biden with a competent staff over dis’ fun.

  • Biden’s “competent staff” worsened the trade war with China, to the US’s disadvantage, and wholeheartedly supported the Gaza genocide with every dollar and bomb they could scrape up (well, OK, at the last minute they wouldn’t sell really big bombs to Israel, but the rest of it kept on flowing), and also wholeheartedly suppressed the protest movement against that genocide. You don’t mind Nazis as long as they’re kinder, gentler Nazis, eh?

Look, I get it. Trump’s a liar. He is a tremendous liar. They ALL lie. They should ALL be called on it, every time. because once you start being “outraged” at Reagan’s “Reign of Error” (Mark Green’s 1980s book on Reagan’s then-unprecedented string of outright lies and distortions), but “Biden? He’s a saint! How DARE you call his wildly delusional utterances into question? If you love Trump so much, you should marry him!”

NONE of these people are on your side. Stop giving them a pass. Grind the shards into their palms. “Do better.”

    • I don’t see ANYONE here referring to Biden as a saint. I bet even a poll of his “supporters” would uncover a huge fraction of people who voted for him only because Trump is worse and they thought Biden had the best chance of beating Trump. As much as I wouldn’t support Biden IN PRETTY MUCH ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES, I am able to see that he is better than Trump. When the contest is between only those two — which is how democracy sucks in the USA — that means I pinch my nose and vote Biden. I’m not giving Biden a pass, I’m trying to save my family from worse.
