For identity politics “woke” liberals, symbolic gains in diversity are all that really matter when gauging progress. Rather than focusing on policies that actually improve people’s lives, they promote privileged subsets of historically underprivileged groups. The absurdity and futility of this approach manifests itself when token representatives like Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton join the ruling classes and become just as oppressive as the traditional old white males.

Do “token representatives” … ” join the ruling classes and BECOME just as oppressive as the traditional old white males” or are they accepted into the ruling class only because their pre-existing “traditional old white male” oppressiveness was evident and sufficient for entry?
The last line in “Animal Farm” comes to mind: “The creatures outside looked from nonbinary, left-handed pig to man, and from man to biracial, Wiccan pig, and from Oswald-acted-alone pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”
It’s all a distraction. What really sickens me is how readily so many on the “left” fall for it. I don’t care that your 8-year-old kid wants to wear a dress; I want healthcare. What’s that? Your biggest concern is whether some pretend journalist’s revisionist history is taught as Holy Writ? I care just a little bit more about how the Most Senile President since Reagan is dropping the ball on the environment, student loans, housing costs, etc.
Could these privileged woke jackasses develope a sense of perspective?
Equality in the US means every token gets a piece of the plunder pie.
If Americans weren’t such sycophants to power they could actually be able to figure out they’ve been duped.
