When liberals talk about abortion rights, they emphasize the importance of bodily autonomy and personal choice. But they have become increasingly authoritarian about free thought and free speech. Like their conservative counterparts, they are hypocritical.

HyPOcritical, HyPAHcritical. The pattern’s an old one. Liberals have not cared about the economically disenfranchised (those are the only people who are imperiled by any abortion ban) for a long time. And it isn’t just abortion. They haven’t cared about schools, wages, access to the courts, clean drinking water (cue up the clip of Obama taking a microsip of Flint lead-water while everyone applauds), or anything that would allow for upward mobility on the macroscale for decades. Authoritarian? For most of my lifetime, that’s what they’ve always been. (And now, off to moderation.)
