No Political Violence, Trump Says

Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, it was breathtakingly bizarre to see a president whose administration has perfected the art of violent political rhetoric and action, and is enthusiastically embracing genocide, haughtily decry political violence.

  • Yes, Trump has perfected the art of this. Kissinger did too. As I recall, he managed to kill irony by being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. But, really, casting back through imperfect memory, hasn’t every single solitary American presidency, at least in modern times, talked peace but murdered willy-nilly?

I truly truly wonder: If Trump had simply been more polished, more … Clintonian, would we all just be “Meh, another Republican presidency. Oh well”?
