The rugged-individual, tough, “can-do” pillars of capitalism squeal like frightened children if the dread “big government” can’t remove from their resilient psyches all of life’s uncertainty.
Well a lot of uncertainty has been eliminated by government “too big to protect average citizens.” Obama is pressuring the NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to cease his lone effort “impose meaningful accountability on Wall Street banks for their role in the 2008 financial crisis and the mortgage fraud/foreclosure schemes.” http://tinyurl.com/43zysrc
Oink on, bro’ Obumma.
While you pine for the Resurrection of Bolshevism, Antiwar.com reminds me that four more people were blown to smithereens in Waziristan today. All the Bush-Obama wars are steady, and I bet there’ll be a bit of nation-building in Kadafi-free Lybia too.
I know you don’t have to do requests, but can we get some more cartoons about the wars?
Ted, as the Salon article to which falco links above suffices to show, the Republicans are hardly alone in willing to sell out the US (i e, the interests of the majority of residents of the country) in order to obtain «compaign contributions». As Mr Obama, in addition to being chosen the best president money could buy in 2008, aspires to win the award for 2012 as well, it’s obvious that he can’t afford to alienate major campaign contributors….
