The Democrats were winning the battle for public opinion over the government shutdown. Inexplicably, they chose to cave in anyway to the Republicans without getting anything in return. Even more strangely, Democrat-aligned journalists and opinion mongers argue that somehow this will turn out to be a victory because they raised the issue of healthcare without trying to win it.

Again, follow the money.
Before Obamacare was passed, trace the path of a dollar in healthcare. CEOs go to exotic locations every year and eat off the full menu coming up with ways to screw us all into early graves. After Obamacare was passed? Where’s the money going? The same place. Into the same pockets. Just as it was intended by those hardworking CEOs.
The system is not broken. This is how it was designed to work. Nancy Pelosi made a 16,000% return on her investments during her time in office. Others made out even better. Neither side is investigating it. If you (try to) bring the point up, a lot of angry liberals will scream you down: you’re a sexist, you hate women, you’re jealous.
Those to the right (well, more to the right than the democrats) use the term “libtard” as a pejorative. I think that the point of the insult however is sound. A lot of democrats/liberals/progressives are profoundly stupid. (That the Republican base is equally gullible is irrelevant to this point.) They libs lack the capacity to step back, to look at the behaviors in question in and of themselves, and to stick to a collectively consistent course of action that will bear useful outcomes.
…not to mention the Trump bj email surfacing a few days later,. Although Epstein’s brother asserts that “Bubba” didn’t refer to the POTUS commonly known as “Bubba,” he isn’t claiming that the other person named isn’t really Donald Trump. The Democrats are so great at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory! Reminds me of “Professional Wrestling.”
