Is it me, or is it a little strange for Joe Biden, and the Democrats, who repeatedly characterized Donald Trump as a bona fide fascist, to cooperate with his transition to power? Shouldn’t they be resisting? Maybe even trying to reverse the election results?

Not sure what you mean here. They’ve been handing over power to each other just fine after 1993.
Carry it a step further. A small number of people in Hitler’s time understood the existential threat he represented. They had no precedent to base their actions on, but they warned of the risk he posed. We have been bludgeoned — for years and years — with how dire Trump is. And now we’re 50 days away from Trump’s rise to the presidency.
How many of the democrats have left the country? Forget political party. How many people of whatever party have fled? Just like you can’t convict someone if Chewbacca lives on Endor, you can’t say Trump > Hitler and not be hitting the liquor stores for cardboard boxes and brushing up on your Canadian.

The interesting thing is that German politicians – and voters – did have precedent, or they believed they did. Namely, the Sozis in Germany, who went from being scary loudmouth radicals to basically safe establishmentarians once in power, and the Fascists in Italy, who completely underdelivered on their promises of hardcore norm-breaking totalitarianism. So a lot of them figured Hitler and the Nazis won’t be any worse.
Anyway, I’m convinced most of your politicians and hangers-on who tried to depict Trump as the second coming of Hitler or something in that vein were lying, and obviously, badly lying at that. Which is a shame, since he really may do some real harm and they are largely helping him.
