As the DNC met to elect a new chairman, attendees admitted that the Democratic Party doesn’t have a message. If they had a message, they don’t know what it would say or to whom it would be delivered. Nor do they have a charismatic leader in the wings who might be able to articulate that message.

Spy Magazine used to have a “Celebrity Math” column. Example: (Twyla Tharp + Andre the Giant) x 1/2 Ross Perot = Michael Jordan.
A similar calculation can be performed on the democrats of the past 35 years or so. Bill Clinton’s morality, Barack Obama’s love of bankers. Nancy Pelosi’s preternatural skill at making great stock trades (totally not insider trading). Dianne Fienstein’s, Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s, and Joe Biden’s selfless devotion to the bigger picture and stepping down at the right time. The whole party’s fanatical drive and commitment to guaranteeing a woman can get an abortion and that we all have universal health care, affordable college, and jobs that pay enough to live on, combined with Kamala Harris’ super-genius grasp of technology — it all leads to the same solution.
Anyone but Bernie (or anyone like him), and anything but socialism (or anything like it)!
