Democrats say they’re overwhelmed by all the outrageous policy changes and executive orders Trump is cranking out. But there’s no evidence that they’re actively resisting anything at all.

I think you’re leaving out the final bit from the “Pogo” by Walt Kelly reference in the title.
It was like this when Roe was given the Old Yeller treatment too. And, as Vonnegut mentioned years back, “During the Vietnam War … every respectable artist in this country was against the war. It was like a laser beam. We were all aimed in the same direction. The power of this weapon turns out to be that of a custard pie dropped from a stepladder six feet high.”
The stakes are so serious, but all I’m seeing is the democrats (“leaders” and rank and file) running around in the motley, clobbering each other with prop mallets and tossing buckets of tinsel around as they all emerge from the tiny little car in the middle of the ring.
The only thing the Democrats have to be “for” is a “kinder, gentler” version of what the Republicans are doing, since, in spite of all the GOP rhetoric, they are just another capitalist party (i.e., at the service of human selfishness), and not a genuinely socialist (i.e., oriented towards benefiting all members of society) party. The Dems were well on the way to establishing their Brave New World and are mad because the GOP usurped them and is imposing 1984.
