First Meeting of the Resistance

Donald Trump and the Republicans are unleashing a tsunami of extremist executive orders and policy changes. But the Democrats who one would normally expect to lead the resistance are not reacting, explaining that they are in “wait and see mode” because they are still despondent about the election results.

They’re in “wait-and-see” mode because ALL solution sets contain the same fundamental equation: It isn’t the voters who are wrong, it’s the people in power within the party. The dnc, almost all the senators and most of the representatives, pretty much all the major media people, and everyone who’s still alive going back all the way to the Clinton administration.

I think Ted has the wrong resistance group in the image. The Frenchies shouldn’t be glaring at the Nazis out the window, they should be glaring at the Vichy government. The resistance must start with the eradication of internal corruption or stupidity within the party. THEN going after the Republicans becomes unnecessary as they’ll be voted out en masse in the midterms.

  • The DNC has the blood of tens, probably hundreds, of thousands of Palestinians on their hands. Recent revelations that the US knew that the Ukrainians would be slaughtered if they provoked a war with Russia mean that the DNC has the blood of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians on their hands. Madeline Albright’s famous remark reminds us that the DNC has the blood of half a million Iraqi children on (and Allah only knows how many adults) on their hands. And then there’s Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Sudan, the Congo…the DNC isn’t “the resistance.” The Democratic party is in a state of total moral bankruptcy. The DNC is the Vichy government.

  • What did you have in mind for Democrats to do about Trump’s executive orders? They have close to zero power in the executive, judicial, and legislative branches of the United States. They can file lawsuits, I suppose, but … they are. They could march in the streets, but that’s been tried numerous times over the last few years, to no avail. In a strange turn of events, I suppose that they could go all January 6 on Trump and the Republicans, but that didn’t reverse any political decisions either. I imagine that some Democrats are going Harriet Tubman, stealthily breaking bad laws, but I don’t expect them to be announcing that from the roof tops.

Funny. When the Republicans AREN’T in charge, they still manage to use procedural steps to sabotage everything they can.

The problem is that the democrats — not all of them of course — are a bunch of gutless hypocrites. If you’d like an example of what I mean, call up a democratic politician and ask them about Mayor Eric Adams in New York. Let me know how many grumble, “He’s a goddamned criminal. … And you can quote me on that.” Let me know when Gov. Hochul calls a press conference and simply says, “We can’t prove he’s guilty because Trump has ordered the investigation stopped, and Adams has snatched up that opportunity. This is not the party of cover ups, and for an elected official to take this cowardly way out is unacceptable. So I’m using my powers as Governor to remove Adams from office effective immediately. As in right now. Adams, you’re fired!”

I doubt she’ll do it. Why? Because the dems ARE the party of cover ups. Same as the Republicans. Whether it’s wiping your ass with the Constitution to arm Contras or pardoning your family on your way out the door while your son sells art for six figures a pop to elites hoping to gain (even more) access to the power structure, it’s just layers and layers of deception and hypocrisy.
