Dead on Ted!!!
The whole time I was all, THIS IS ABOUT OBAMA. And then I read the last panel and it TOTALLY BLEW ME AWAY. BUSH!!! *frothing a mouth*
Check out this Toles cartoon, looks like Bush is still working on it.
I remember reading how all the editorial cartoonists were going to miss W. Who would have thought Obama would inspire Ted to new heights of creative brilliance? Democrats need to wake up, or they'll fall into the same trap Republicans did after W's election: he's one of us, so he can do no wrong. When I read some lefty blogs, their habitual name-calling and faulty logic seems the same as some of the batshit-crazy rightwing blogs.
To celebrate Independence Day, I read some Thomas Jefferson, and came across this quote, which nicely summarizes my own belief system (for the record, I'm a liberal):
I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent.
Rall, get a grip. The "mess" Bush inherited was not nearly the total clusterfsck that Obama inherited. I'm pretty critical of Obama on a lot of things, too, but get a sense of proportion!
Geez, you could put a little "Hall-of-mirrors" effect in the last panel and show that these exact conversations also took place in 1999, 1991, 1987, 1979, 1975, 1971… probably all the way back to Lincoln if not Jefferson.
Poor Barry. Every chance this man-child gets, he pisses and moans about what he inherited. Like he never even wanted to be President, and he had know idea the economy was falling apart late last year. Barry was just looking for Good Times after Movin On Up to the Black House. The African Colonel doesn't need interruptions to his busy schedule of flying around the Statue of Liberty and speeches read from his TelePrompter.
Exactly what "mess" did W. inherit?

He does??
The African Colonel doesn't need interruptions to his busy schedule of flying around the Statue of Liberty and speeches read from his TelePrompter. [sic]
Considering the lame race jokes, I think this poster is pulling our leg. But still, this bit at the end reminded me of the inexplicable TelePrompter "meme."
I am baffled that the idiot right continues to make fun of Obama's use of the TelePrompter. Every president (and major candidate) in the last 30 years has used the ubiquitous device. Bush Jr. was notable for how clumsily he used his.
What moron came up with this "joke"? Or was he a genius who was sly enough to know the right-in-file would be stupid enough to embrace it…
