All Hail President Kamala

Despite repeated disasters, the Democratic National Committee continues its strategy of sidelining leftists and progressives in favor of corporate moderates who are unpopular with voters.

  • There’s Ted Norm.

  • Well, in between, DNC supported Biden, who won despite being more of a corporatist than a progressive. Admittedly it is a low bar, but … they don’t fail 100% of time.

Big picture, we need ranked-choice voting and a single unified election (that merges primaries and the general election). That way we can vote as our hearts and minds dictate rather than only for the lesser of two evils and/or the most “electable” candidates. If people were free to vote for whom they like best (without fear of wasting their votes and allowing the “greater evil” through), we’d get skilled candidates with vision instead of … the dregs.

Let’s “review” the democrats’ last three victories.

First, we had Bill Clinton. Young, articulate, able to fake concern, going up against former CIA head George H. W. Bush. who simply wasn’t rough-and-ready Ronny Reagan but more of a superannuated yuppie. Clinton was a centrist. Except when it came for sweetheart deals for the powerful. Then all the stops came out. NAFTA, for instance.

Second, we had Obama. The first black candidate (who had a chance at winning) going up — again — against an old Republican. Obama won through a combination of black voter enthusiasm and white people who wanted to convince themselves they aren’t racists. Obama showed that he was a centrist in many ways. Whether it was not ordering his party to bring up UHC for a vote, whether it was going after Edward Snowden with the full force of the law for letting it out that we are all being spied on continuously, whether it was bailing out the bankers … yes indeed, Obama turned his back on the middle class.

Then we had Biden. Let’s keep one thing clearly in mind about Biden. He represented Delaware for, oh, about a million years. Pick any single solitary credit card in your wallet. Whichever one it is, it’s incorporated in Delaware. Why? Because Delaware is the friendliest possible state in the whole wide country for them to be in. That tells you everything you need to know about Biden. Biden’s “win” against Trump? Do the math. Look up the state-by-state totals for the awarding of Electoral College votes. Biden and Trump went in to Election Day with a relatively enormous percentage of “still undecided” voters. About 30,000 votes would have flipped the entire thing to Trump.

The democrats have been fading since Lyndon Baines Johnson. Why? Centrism. Compromise is for when you both reach for the last slice of pizza — “We could split it.” Not for when you’re trying for universal health care — “How about, we still charge you an arm and a leg for ‘coverage’ then throw in a deductible and co-pays as well, in addition to making a whole bunch of stuff completely off limits?”

  • Omg we fixed the stupid carousel of failure presentation of this comic.. at least what I saw on mobile

I was about to think this might be what makes me not visit this site anymore which would reduce its traffic by (counts fingers) 14.28%
