According to the Centers for Disease Control, the daily death toll from COVID-19 is likely to exceed the total from the September 11 terrorist attacks for the next 2 to 3 months. Good thing we’re not responding to the coronavirus the same way that we responded to 9/11.

The weekly death toll from smoking is equivalent to about two 9/11s. I don’t see anyone demanding that the CEOs and boards of directors of the tobacco companies be rounded up, tried, and executed for murdering ‘Mericuns and driving healthcare costs through the roof. I see no one being forced to surrender their stock profits for making coin off such human suffering. It’s, it’s, it’s almost as though no one actually cares about any of these people other than how they can be used to manipulate the surviving public’s simple attention span.
