Democrats make a strong argument that Donald Trump has authoritarian tendencies and might even want to replace our democratic republic with a dictatorship. They say that he is corrupt and dangerous. They argue that nothing is more important than to defeat him and prevent him from ever becoming president again. If all that is true, why are they insisting on renominating Joe Biden? He has stubbornly low approval ratings to the point that even most Democrats don’t want him to run again. Could it be that they don’t really want to win?

I think the democrats have made an enormous mistake.
MAGA, definitionally, is composed of fanatics. You never, ever, let the fanatic win. Look at the mercury in vaccines causes autism in our babies our precious babies people. Back in 1999, just to shut them up because appeals to evidence and science weren’t working, versions of all the shots were made available without mercury. Autism rates have continued to rise. And almost 25 years later, we’ve still got ’em — fanatics who won’t debate honestly, won’t look at facts, won’t seek professional counseling to cope with their issues, and who never, ever admit they’re wrong. The majority of voters are not deep thinkers, they’re deep feelers.
What the dems did screws them in so many ways it’s impressive. First, there’s the whole shutdown of the government. Remember how we just ducked a shutdown? And now … the House is closed for business? That is, we’re in a shutdown. Why? Because the dems sat on their hands while McCarthy was given the gate.
So let’s say the House situation devolves into a real blowout. Total disaster. The stopgap measure expires and there’s no way to get another one considered because the House is closed. The blame will be shifted to the dems for not bailing out McCarthy and to Biden for being president while all this was happening. You’re the president? You’re supposed to be able to bring the parties together to work out their problems. And if the House situation turns out fine? MAGA and Trump will take all the credit.
It isn’t JUST that Trump is in the fight of his life with all the civil suits and upcoming criminal ones. His supporters are really angry about all the shaftings they’ve taken from the democrat elites over the past 40 years as those elites have allowed neoliberalism to run roughshod over the country. This is payback. I’ve said it before. Look at that booking photo of Trump. He crossed the Rubicon. When he gets back into office? I really am worried about what he’s going to do to convince everyone to give him a third term.
If it weren’t for the fact that McCarthy is deep into the impeach-Biden thing, I think he could have worked out a deal with the Democrats to be the speaker for a majority-sized caucus made up of Republicans and Democrats. Unfortunately, the impeachment thing is a severe impediment.
I think it is telling that McCarthy was criticized for keeping the government open by using Democratic votes … and the folks who were most critical of that removed McCarthy from the speakership … by using Democratic votes.
See? It’s the democrats’ fault. Watch as they spend the entire period up to Trump’s swearing in defensively explaining how this isn’t their fault.
Meanwhile Republicans and Independents make a strong case that the Democratic leadership has authoritarian tendencies. Although there is a near total news blackout on the stories, Twittergate and Missouri v Biden prove that a national system of censorship is being directed from the White House.
