The Kamala Harris campaign is slicing and dicing its support among such identity groups as “Black Women for Harris” and “White Dudes for Harris” in a way never seen before.

The Dems establishment has deftly twisted any seemingly positive, irrefutable notion of “inclusion” into the standard, pernicious, if wildly effective, strategy of divide and conquer (or, domestically at least, completely control).
In 1968, the Chicago Convention turned ugly. I will be quite shocked if there is no violence at this one. With the rising granularity, we’re going to see Harris’ coalition turn against itself in the weeks ahead. (That’s how it always happens.) And no amount of Kamalielese (apologies to Mencken’s Gamalielese) will hold it all together once that fracturing starts.
Harris’ best play would have been to distance herself from Biden. I guess they still need him to take the fall for any upcoming crises (which means the inner circle has high confidence that something politically damaging is coming before Election Day).
A lot’s riding on Biden’s performance. If his speech becomes him staggering his way through um the Amtrak that I built back when I was commuting from Scranton to Iraq where my son Hunter … I mean Biden. I mean Beau died. What? That was at Walter Reed? Um. Family. Faith. Faith. Faith. Family. … it’ll force Harris’ operators’ hands. They’ll HAVE TO remove Biden from office. And that, too, will be a further fracturing as everyone waits to see whether the other shoe (the one in Ukraine, the one in Gaza, the one at the border, the inflationary one, the job one …) drops before everyone goes to the polls.
I see Harri’s approach as big tent. As in: even if you try to slice everyone into different demographic groups they still all are supporting Harris.
“Swifties for Trump” is relevant to this discussion somehow, right?
