Pro-Israel students at colleges and universities like Columbia claim that they feel endangered when they see pro-Palestine antiwar protests on campus and hear phrases like “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Everyone is entitled to their own baseless feelings, but let’s not forget who has REAL cause to fear for their lives–those in Gaza who are being slaughtered by Israel.

I don’t know if “pro-Israel” is the right term. Was it “pro-American” to support the war in Afghanistan? In that case, it was much more a case of “pro-multinational/geopolitical interests that want to gain access to the resources of that country.” Quite a few people argued that the real “pro-American” side was that which pointed out that a victory in Afghanistan was well nigh impossible and would only result in unnecessary deaths and mutilations, as well as a weakening of America’s ability to assert the moral high ground.
Look at how much Israel has lost from this. The ICC is drawing up indictments. (Don’t worry, Good Ol’ Smilin’ Joe Biden and all the earlier U.S. presidents and their lackeys who made sure Israel got all the missiles it needed to turn Gaza into a quarry won’t be among those called to account for their actions.)
