Police unions are angry at calls to defund the police. Never mind that the police haven’t actually been defunded anywhere. The threat alone is enough to cause them to sit on their hands while crime is soaring.

The cops have the right idea. Same one that the GOP has. You want to win? You simply never compromise. Look how compromise worked for the dems on abortion. And the climate. And prison reform. And welfare reform. And …
On an unrelated matter, I do find myself wondering frequently these days about Biden’s dementia. I, like many others, thought he was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s at the beginning of the campaign cycle and during his first days in the White House. However, I’ve had to re-evaluate that premise, a year plus into his presidency. Sure, he’s doing some bizarre things, but I wouldn’t be a lapsed journalist if I didn’t ask: was the initial premise of so many — that Biden was going senile — valid?
Except that crime is not really soaring, that’s just the copaganda.
