The two-party system has infused American politics with a sick binary obsession. From environmentalism to food choices to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we are constantly being told that we have to pick a side. In reality, of course, it’s totally OK to sit out these things.

I don’t know if the schools teach Marx. Considering the trouble schools have just getting Darwin into the classroom, I suspect that Marx — the unifying concept or at least a significant conceptual framework in politics and economics (and possibly other fields I’m not thinking of right off the bat) — is not given enough prestige in the lower grades. I suspect Marx’s philosophies would point to the tasteless vegan food on the shelves (and, truly, some of it is like a mouthful of garbage washed down with half a glass of raw sewage) and point out that we should all be cooking our own food because the system as it is now is designed to poison us all, except for the hyperwealthy who can employ cooks. Read the ingredients on a vegan food container. Most of it is just as processed as the crap the vegans are trying to avoid. That should really be the only binary: are you against those aspects of capitalism that treat you as something to be exploited or not?
“There are a lot of killers. You think our country’s so innocent?”
Trump said he respected his Russian counterpart.
“But he’s a killer,” O’Reilly said to Trump.
“There are a lot of killers. You think our country’s so innocent?” Trump replied.
(Trump shows a grasp on reality here.)
What a choice. Democrats and Republicans.
But it was a Republican (Reagan, useless for everything else) who decided to talk to his Russian counterpart.
I’m pro-life. I’m NOT anti-abortion. I’m in favor of staying alive.
Cowardly Democrats are willing to die and kill us all for a cause (Super Imperialism?) because they are not brave enough to talk to Putin.
