Here. In a single sentence, everything that’s wrong with the New York Times (their article today):
“Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California said Democrats were close to completing the bill, displaying confidence that the negotiations over issues like paid leave, tax increases and Medicare benefits that have bedeviled the party for months would soon end.”
These weren’t negotiations. These were terms of unconditional surrender. Manchin and Sinema completely stopped Biden in his (Am)traks. And if one bloated millionaire and one lunatic are able to shut down a president that easily, maybe Biden’s owner-operators should have him resign already. (Have the disappeared Kamala Harris leave office first, preferably in all due haste, and then have Biden leave after a new veep is in place.)

Re resignations–James Howard Kunstler suggested that, if Harris resigns first, Biden could appoint Obama as VP–and then resign, making Obama the Prez again.
