Ted, Ted – what’s wrong with you ? Why doesn’t the prospect of replacing Donald John Trump in the Oval Office with Joseph Robinette Biden fill you with wild enthusiasm ? Must be the fault of your civics teacher back in junior high…. 😉

Ole Joe “h,waygwtfiymatrliyp©”*** Biden is a profound political insult. His candidacy serves only as the now standard caricature of a system that has devolved into a ritual no more meaningful than a fantasy sports match for which opposing tribal fans click “like” buttons every four years.
(In anticipation: “Oh, but Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s spot on the SCOTUS!!!” With all due respect, she should have announced her retirement within 60 seconds of Obumma’s completion of his oath of office … in 2009.)

This progressive won’t. The election isn’t really an election; it’s a referendum on two non-issues. (There’s really only two points the candidates diverge from each other on: guns and abortion.
I’ve commented before on the falsity of both of those issues as dividing points.)
I. The vast majority of gun owners (there are, literally, tens of millions of them) operate their lethal little toys with great care. I don’t like guns, I don’t own guns, I don’t want guns. For $20, I can buy a machete at any well-stocked hardware store. No waiting period. Won’t jam. Easy to maintain. Silent. (Well, silent until I bury it into the side of some mofo breaking into my home. Then there’ll be a lot of noise.)
II. Abortion? Most abortions are now via medications. Correction. Most abortions never happen because birth-control access continues to be available. (You used to need a prescription for condoms.) The days of the street blockade of clinics are ending.
Both parties are going to need to manufacture new pretend issues to pretend to care about.
