Good and informative discussion, especially your stressing that the US should have never invaded Afghanistan, and that it was a doomed effort from the start.

  Thank you, @rikster. Although there were very few of us warning against invading at the time–we did exist.
  There should be a price to pay for being wrong about matters of life and death.
