Today is a snow day here in New York, so I’m home from work. So I’ll write.
As usual, the gun-control people are out in full force after Gifford’s shooting. I’m going to be politically incorrect by saying that we don’t need less guns, we need less crazy and stupid people willing to shoot others in random acts of violence.
I’m going to be politically incorrect in also stating that the shooter in this incident may have been controlled by someone else in order to discredit both Left and Right groups who desire revolutionary change in this country. The reason? The shooter was a Tea Partier, and at the same time a pot-smoking Karl Marx reader. The two cannot exist in the same physical body, so probably both the Tea Partier and the Karl Marx reader don’t exist in this person. But they can both exist when the objective is to discredit both by having both shoot a congresswoman at point-blank range.

Bravo, Susan! Though, unfortunately, I don’t think there’s anything that can be done to stop the flood of madmen (madwomen!) in the streets of America, what with Uncle Sam’s armed forces working hard to transform hundreds of thousands of young folks into traumatized mass murderers with no hope for a future.
Not that that was Jared Loughner’s case, mind you.

There must be five or more people killed every day in the USA. Why is it that the press only notices it when the targets are rich or powerful? Never mind, I answered my own question.
Lee, this case is very dear to the heart of the mainstream media because exalted federal officials were killed or hurt. Mere mundanes don’t matter, especially if they’re in the Middle East.

i’m pondering your statement relative to the knowledge that people will, without a doubt, classify more “radicals”, rather than fewer, with more guns, rather than fewer, as being just as “bizarre”, “wacko”, “crazy” and “mentally ill” as Jared Lee Loughner, if and when they take up arms in revolutionary fervor.
i mean, what’s the difference really?
Wouldn’t, “exalted federal officials”, be “legitimate” targets? Within a revolutionary context?
And wouldn’t there, inevitably, be “collateral damage” of exactly the same kind?
How does one tell the difference?
If, indeed, there is one?

It’d be better, right? WRONG…
You see, they were also working on a “Thermal Fuse” or some kind of device to explode the school’s propane tank. Since they spent more time on looking cool in trenchcoats, gun practice and “Are you talking to me!?” tude they let this focus slip. The thermal fuze fizzled. They’d intended it to blow up the school after they left as a final F*ck you as they attempted to hijack a plane to crash into a building (from “Running man” the novel) -or- if da fuzz shot ’em dead kill the fuzz and anyone else in the school.
If they hadn’t had guns…they’d have just worked harder on the propane tank explosion.
So, in RL they got to go downstairs and tell their Fuhrer that for his birthday they got him…what…13 people including themselves? Like that’d impress HIM…
-OR-they’d have set an explosion in a high capacity propane tank in a packed school with at least hundreds of students, enough force to turn it into brick dust, metal shards and toothpicks… Blitzkrieg and gas chamber all at once…
Frankly, though, I do think there’s more to this than a lone nut that got set off by the high hate rants of Palin and others. It’s “Too perfect” a lone nut. Also, IMO, why they are trying to get him fast tracked to death row despite being crazy.
My favorite bit of this spectacle though is the ADL…
Palin whined “Blood Libel” about how her “Target Map” was blamed along with her rabid rants. Then the Jews stepped in and whined and cried. After all, “Blood libel” is supposed to only be for them, I guess, but it’s said they care about their own suffering, no one else’s… Like how they fought like a stray animal captured by a “special” person facing it’s 20th daily temperature reading to try to keep any US/UN recognition of the “Armenian Genocide” off the public record. The least “Murder all Jews!” country in the region is Turkey, see, and they wanted that messy bit of history covered up lest it mess with that relationship. But, at least they can agree with the man who’s birthday the Columbine kids celebrated; “Who now speaks of the Armenians?” Once they lost they did an about face. Ditto on keeping “Homeless” of the list of people protected by “hate crime” laws despite being by FAR the most victimized in this day and age.
Technically, “Blood Libel” might be when people rave conspiracy theories of upper politicians sacrificing babies at Bohemian grove. -wonder what’s in Assanges “Insurance file” though…?— Or that rotten dot com thing passed as e-mail implying Chinese put their aborted fetuses on the menu at restaurants, versus the work of one “Artist” screaming for attention….
I wonder how many people died of war or preventable disease that day.
