Tomorrow’s appearance on WLRN has been canceled due to political censorship. This is the fourth time this has happened.
My regrets for any confusion.
Land of the Free, my ass.

Woah, really? I believe you (certainly this type of stuff goes on here) but, could we have a little more of the story so we can hear what it looks like when this happens? I am just really morbidly curious about how these types of things go down.
What happened, we were told, was that the station wasn’t fully aware of HOW radical the contents of the book were when they scheduled my appearance. Because they’re afraid of one of their sponsors, they decided to cancel me rather than risk losing them.
Fucking absurd. This is downright embarrassing. Not to mention ironically reaffirming of the ideas in this book they thought too radical to discuss.
That damn liberal media!
@Albert Cirrus, you joke, but “liberals” are the least revolutionary people out there right now. Christopher Hitchens wrote in his most recent article about how the liberals in any democracy are the release valve for revolution, because they make us think that incremental change is possible. Honestly, they have their heads further up their asses than the tea party morons, who (though racist morons, howevermuch John Stewart wants to defend them in his rally) at least know things are really, really wrong.
You can’t expand the spectrum unless there is a place the rest of the spectrum ends, and you begin.
Woops! I meant to write Christopher HEDGES, not Hitchens. The article is here, btw: http://www.truthdig.com/arts_culture/item/the_death_of_the_liberal_class_20101029/ which is an exerpt of his new book “The Death of the Liberal Class”. I apologize to Hedges, who is a whole lot better journalist and person than Hitchens.
@Ted: Wow, that is like a picture perfect example of the troubles discussed in “Manufacturing Consent”. Sorry.
