Tokenism passes for progress in the American electoral political system. After six years of Barack Obama, you’d think progressives would be over the excitement of electing the first African-American president – given that he was anything but progressive. But here they go again, getting thrilled about the possibility of the first woman president – even though she is more conservative than Obama.
Progress Marches On

With the advent of wholly unverifyable electronic voting, I don’t see how ANYBODY can honestly presume that the American voting public has — over the last two decades at least — really chosen any political candidate that the bankster-class corporations didn’t previously endorse in that proverbial, smoke-filled back room.
Democracy in America is an expansive sham.

And an “expensive” sham! 🙁
Actually, I did use the wrong word … instead of the more passive instruction “endorse,” I should have employed the so much less questionable mandate of , “anoint.”
Sigh.

This doesn’t have to be! Elizabeth Warren should become the first female U.S. President. Hopefully, she can be convinced to run for the office! 🙂
And what would she be able to do? Regardless, as far as I can see, she IS mainstream/elite just the same. No telling what she would bother with. Although I’m sure she’d find ways to spend us further into oblivion like any other Repub or Dem.
You haven’t followed her attacks upon the Bankers and Wall Street? Or her support for Middle America? If her “walk” is 1/2 as good as her “talk” she’s ready for the Oval Office. (Personally, I couldn’t vote for Hillary because of her stance with regard to GMOs.)
We come from very different perspectives. I think she hates capitalism. I hate fraud, cronyism, and gaming the system, which capitalism is not or rather is not supposed to be. I don’t want to ‘soak the rich.’ I just want them to play by the same rules. I also don’t want even more social welfare programs. And finally, I absolutely cannot support anyone who pushes the ‘gender pay gap’ lie. Someone like that certainly has not even considered male-specific issues, but that’s off the radar for almost everyone anyway.
As for Hillary, all I’ll say is that after she claimed, “Women are the primary victims of war” it’s not hard to understand why she has no qualms about sending so many men into the meat grinder…
Tongue in cheek question:
If you take away the identity politics, what’s left of Leftism besides environmentalism?
