Militarize Climate Change!

Since Americans don’t seem to care much about climate change, President Obama is trying to recast global warming as a threat to the one thing they DO care about: national security.

  • Have y’all seed the pictures of flooding in Tayx-ass? Land of oil, home of climate change deniers … state of extreme irony.

    • Yep!
Accepting Federal funds as “disaster areas” from the same government that many thought would impose martial law and take over the Lone Star State!
      😀

  • It’s not that nobody cares about “climate change” … what they are tired of are government boondoggles of the “NUKES IN IRAQ” paradigm. So you tell me, when do you know for an absolute certainty that Uncle Sam is running a propaganda scam? How about when any evidence is being composed (or otherwise cherry-picked) to fit around a predetermined presumption?

How a civilization deals with “Global Warming (TM, Saint Al the Gore) is dynamically different than how a suffering community may deal with an ice age. You don’t think government scientists cannot also be bottle-neck scam artists?

    • The fraud (or complete fool) is the author of article you present.

The grand, breathtaking revelation is baed on comparison of temperature charts with non-identical time spans as the second has “with a few years of additional data after 2000.”

Then the article claims that the US was far hotter in the 1930’s that it is today. We all know about US exceptionalism but GLOBAL warming is about warming world-wide NOT about US temperatures only. Second, the “few years additional data” shows current GLOBAL temperatures warmer than 1930’s GLOBAL temperatures.

Finally, anyone who suggests that CNN is some radical left media outlet is completely divorced from reality.

It’s would be difficult to find one aspect of our comfortable, if non-sustainable, life styles that was not made possible by contributions from the technological developments arising from government funded research.

Those who constantly rag on science need to have their last contact with it be the cars, busses, planes and boats that deliver them to desert islands, with maximum altitudes of 2 meters, so that they can live 1) free from the effects of the science they so distrust and 2) to disprove the theory they so love to hate which predicts they will all be under water in a short time.

      • One wonders whence the money that finances this «Health Ranger», Michael Allen Adams, is coming. I note that the site is available not only in English, but also in Chinese (with a choice of simplified or traditional glyphs), Japanese, and Spanish. For an operation based in the unincorporated community of Cedar Creek, Texas, it certainly seems to have resources….

    • More importantly WHY would “government scientists” be scam artists? What possible incentive would they have? Money? They’re on salary – they don’t have to compete for grants. Because they were told to? Their employer is the government.

Why would the government scam us on this issue? To collect carbon taxes? That would only make sense if they were actually collecting carbon taxes. Our government has done little more than pay lip service to global warming. Actually combating it would run counter to the wishes of their owners.

IOW we would have people with no incentive doing the government’s dirty work for no reason.

So, okay, for sake of argument, let’s say they’re scamming us. Why would 97% of the OTHER scientists in the world be in on it? They don’t get money from the US government. The common ridiculous argument is that they’re in it for the grant money. Say what? Nobody gets rich off of grant money. Nobody every writes up a grant proposal says, “We’re going to prove global warming” – the proposal says “We’re going to STUDY global warming” Any proposal with an obvious bias is automatically rejected for that very reason. Then there are the overwhelming majority of scientists whose grants are rejected – why haven’t they spilled the beans?

However, I do believe the government IS scamming us on this issue. They’re downplaying it to avoid pissing off the Koch brothers.

    • @ DanD –

The article you posted was rather intriguing, but when I read the following, I realized that the author wasn’t being totally rational:

“Rarely does anything resembling the truth ever come out of Washington D.C.”

      🙁

    • Okay, I missed something.
      What are you talking about?

      • Either it’s the fault of Ted’s site – a position which I should defend strongly, if not quite to the death,
mein geschätzter Lehrer – or it’s mine (which I staunchly deny), but if you scroll down a bit you’ll see that my reply to falco’s contribution, in which he points out the dodgy nature of the source cited by DanD, is shown twice – once, as it should have been, under falco’s post, and once (the one to which you replied), independently on the thread. Had you instead responded to my reply to falco’s reply to DanD, you would no doubt have understood that I was referring to the site http://www.naturalnews.com/index.html and the person, Mike Allen Adams, ostensibly running it…. 😉

      • Interesting….
I always (try to) click on the “Notify me” box to stay up-to-date. The message that appeared in my mailbox was this one, so I didn’t scroll down to find the other one (which didn’t get emailed to me). I will check that one, and the one from DanD, so that I remain “in the loop.”
[Note: It could be the webmaster’s fault — he’s my son! 😀 ]

      • Give your son my best – he’s done a great job with Ted’s website, even if some glitches turn up from time to time (they always do) !… 🙂

        Henri

      • Thanks (from him and from me). Hopefully he monitors the comments — although I don’t know how he would find the time! 🙂

      • Okay, I noticed that the post to which I responded had a time-tag of 5:42 AM on May 31st and the other one 5:33 AM the same day.
I’m wagging my finger at you, Monsieur!
        😀

      • I noticed those temporal indicators as well, mein geschätzter Lehrer, but the thing is that I only posted the message once, and then as a response to falco’s posting. So just why it was reposted again 9 minutes later, I find it difficult to say – but perhaps your son could figure it out ?…
